Raccoons dismantle P7000 Pond Fish Feeder

Raccoons dismantle P7000 Pond Fish Feeder. When I looked at the Koi Live Cam this morning I couldn’t figure out what all the mess was floating in the pond. Well the racoons has found the fish food in the P7000 Pond Fish Feeder and they took the spout off and flushed all the food into the pond.

I guess I need to get the trap and move these guys to another neighborhood.

Racoon Bandits are back!!

Live Bird Cam Watching a Northern Flicker

Live Bird Cam Watching a Northern Flicker

Live Bird Cam Watching a Northern Flicker on a cold day in Ohio. This one visits our feeders quite often. Usually it plays well with the other birds but today he showed he wanted to be on the tray from time to time by itself. When it visits it is normally on the suet or peanut feeders. Northern Flicker Woodpecker is one of our favorites.

Starlings Taking a Polar Plunge

Starlings Taking a Polar Plunge

Starlings Taking a Polar Plunge. As you know water is very essential to birds in both the summer and even the winter months. Since we have the Koi pond next to our Live Bird Cam we see birds and animals stopping by for a drink and many times the birds will bath in the pond. As brrr cold as the water is today at 27 degrees the starlings was in the water fall and the deep end of the koi pond taking a bath.

We plan to create more of a bird bath in the near future for all our bird friends.

Live Bird Feeder Cam Watches North American Cardinal

Live Bird Feeder Cam Watches North American Cardinal. We get to see both the male and female cardinal many times at our platform feeder as well as the ground feeder. Usually they are the first in the morning to arrive and the last to leave right before dark. To hear these birds singing back and forth is a great pleasure.

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Woodpecker in Ohio

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Woodpecker

This week was exciting to see this rare woodpecker for Ohio visit us two days in a row.  We first thought this was a American Three-toed but with the help of friends on social media this is a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Woodpecker. Hope we see it again tomorrow.

Yellow-bellied Sapsucker Woodpecker in Ohio visited our bird feeder several times today for the first time. After looking this Three Toed Woodpecker in Ohio we knew it was a rare one to see here in the midwest. Most of the time they live in the north western US and Canada.

The video below was him coming back the second time to enjoy the peanuts.

Cooper Hawk Returns

Cooper Hawk Returns

Cooper Hawk Returns. You wonder why the birds fly off and it gets real calm around your bird feeders. Usually they know when there is danger. As I looked outside the back window I seen the cooper hawk retuned and was sitting on top of the feeder thinking that a bird may just decide to join him. He fell short of his goals at least here today.

Hawk tries to attack birds in evergreen shrub

Hawk tries to attack birds in evergreen shrub

Hawk tries to attack birds in evergreen shrub. Noticed our bird feeder got real calm so I took a look out back and seen the hawk above in the tree. By the time I got the video camera he had moved down to the fence where he was watching some birds hiding in the evergreen shrubs. He made one pass into the tree but didn’t have success. We are beginning to see more of these around our neighborhood. Hunting around a active bird feeder is like going to a local buffet.
